The Forge
The Forge is a dedicated game master tool for D&D, Pathfinder and any TTRPG. Build worlds, manage NPCs, track sessions and campaigns, everything connected, all in one place.
Under construction by dwarven engineers. We're not saying it's the One Ring of worldbuilding tools. But Sauron did reach out asking for the source code.
The moment the story breaks.
You're in the middle of an epic combat scene. A player uses an obscure ability. You pause the session. Open the browser. Go to ChatGPT. Type the question. Come back.
The moment died. The flow is gone. What should have been pure storytelling became logistics.
The Forge exists to end this. Rules, lore, NPCs, timelines, all inside your workspace. No more tab switching. No more broken immersion.
Not a VTT. Something simpler.
We think storytelling deserves better tools.
Virtual Tabletop (VTT)
Roll20, Foundry, OwlBear. Great for running sessions. The Forge does not compete with them. It works alongside them.
Content Platform
World Anvil, Kanka, Notion. Powerful for storing lore, but built for reading and writing, not for actively playing.
AI Co-Writer
Generic AI tools write for you, but they don't know your world, your NPCs or your campaign history. The Forge does.
Your Campaign Workspace
A living, connected workspace purpose-built for Game Masters. Lore, NPCs, maps, timelines and sessions, all linked. The Notion + Linear + Obsidian of worldbuilding, designed for the table.
Everything your
campaign needs.
Nine dedicated modules, each designed to handle a specific part of your worldbuilding process.
See how everything
connects.
Your villain knows the merchant. The merchant lives in the city your players burned last session. The Forge remembers.
From the first spark to the final battle.
Track every event that shaped your world. Connect wars, alliances and secrets into a living chronicle your players will never forget.
Your Dungeon Master Dashboard.
One screen. Your world's hierarchy in the sidebar, a fluid editor where [[wikilinks]] create pages as you type, and a live properties panel that adapts to every entity you open. NPCs, locations, factions, sessions: all connected, all in one place.
Every character has a story
Build rich character pages with backstory, attributes, motivations and secrets, all connected to the world around them.
Your world fits in your pocket.
Look up NPCs, check lore, review session notes, all from your phone. No laptop hauled to the table.
- NPC lookup mid-session
- Session notes wherever you are
- Responsive by design, not by accident
- Offline-ready for face-to-face sessions
Not ChatGPT. Your campaign's AI.
Generic AI tools don't know that Seraphina is a double agent, that the party is in Iron Hold, or that Session 11 changed everything. Arcane Intelligence does, because it lives inside your campaign.
Ask it anything. It answers from your lore, your NPCs, your sessions. No copy-pasting, no context-setting. Just the intelligence your table deserves.
- Answers from your own lore, not the internet
- Remembers NPCs, factions and session history
- Suggests plot hooks based on your campaign
- No tab switching. No broken immersion.

What do we know about Seraphina Voss?
Arcane Intelligence
Seraphina Voss is the Shadow Consul's chief enforcer in The North. She seeks the Ember Crown to unite the northern factions under the Order. Last seen at the Citadel in Session 14.
Game Master
Which factions are still unresolved?
Arcane Intelligence
3 open factions: The Iron Order, Shadow Guild and the Wandering Band. None have pledged allegiance yet.
The most complete GM platform.
Everything the others forgot to build. Plus the ones no one dared to.

Frequently asked questions.
What is 20Forge?
20Forge is a free toolkit for tabletop RPG Game Masters. Right now: TokenAnvil (token creation), SoundAltar (ambient soundscapes) and Thome (name generator). Coming soon: The Forge, a dedicated campaign command center where lore, NPCs, maps, timelines and sessions all live in one place, without the 37 browser tabs.
What TTRPG systems does it support?
The Forge is system-agnostic. Whether you run D&D 5e, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Tormenta 20 or a homebrew system you invented in a fever dream last Tuesday, it works for any TTRPG campaign.
How is The Forge different from World Anvil?
World Anvil is a content platform, great for writing and publishing lore. The Forge is built for active play. It focuses on the GM's workflow: preparing sessions, tracking NPCs, managing timelines and using AI that actually knows your campaign.
Can I use it during in-person sessions?
Absolutely. TokenAnvil prints great at the table. SoundAltar fills any room with atmosphere. And The Forge's mobile-ready design means you can look up that NPC's backstory mid-session without carrying a laptop into the dungeon.
Can I suggest features?
Yes, and we genuinely mean it. Join our Discord and tell us what you need. We can't promise a button that always rolls a natural 20… but everything else is negotiable. Your ideas have already shaped the roadmap.
Is 20Forge really free?
Yes, and no strings attached. No feature locks, no annoying upgrade banners, no capabilities hidden behind a paywall. If it ever becomes paid, it'll be because the product got good enough that spending 2 gold coins on it actually makes sense. One caveat: Arcane Intelligence will almost certainly be paid. It carries a real operational cost. But it'll be worth it. I promise.
What tools are available right now?
TokenAnvil for token creation, SoundAltar for ambient soundscapes, and Thome for generating epic names. All three will eventually connect inside The Forge, forming one unified campaign toolkit.
What is Arcane Intelligence?
Arcane Intelligence is The Forge's built-in AI assistant. Unlike generic AI tools, it's trained on your specific campaign. It knows your NPCs, your lore and your session history. No copy-pasting context. Just ask.
Can I use The Forge to plan a TPK?
We don't judge. The Forge stores villain motivations, dungeon layouts and secret traps just as faithfully as your heroes' backstories. Plan your TPK in peace. We did add a 'villain' tag for NPCs. Just saying.
Are tokens created in TokenAnvil mine to keep?
Yes. You own everything you create. Use tokens in campaigns, videos, streams or VTTs. We're not treasure-hoarding dragons. Well, maybe a little. But not with your tokens.
What is The Forge?
The Forge is 20Forge's main product: a dedicated worldbuilding workspace for tabletop RPG Game Masters. It's not a virtual tabletop (VTT). It works alongside tools like Roll20 or Foundry. Think of it as your campaign command center where lore, NPCs, maps, timelines and sessions all live together.
When does The Forge launch?
Roll a d20 Perception check. Success! You detect flames at the forge, glowing metal, and the sound of hammering. We're in Act II of the roadmap, shaping the platform core. Expected launch: second half of 2026. Join the waitlist to be notified when early access opens.
Do I need an account?
TokenAnvil, SoundAltar and Thome all work without an account. When The Forge launches, a free account will be required to save worlds, NPCs and campaign notes. No tricks, no traps. Not even a mimic disguised as a login button.
What if my players find The Forge?
A wise GM protects their notes like Vecna protected his eye and hand. The Forge has a dedicated GM-only layer: your secrets, traps and plot twists stay hidden. Unless you share your screen. That one's on you.
Does The Forge have a dark mode?
It's a tool built by and for people who stay up until 3am prepping sessions. Dark mode isn't a feature. It's a lifestyle. Yes, it's the default. Light mode exists, but we had to hide it behind a dragon hoard of settings so no one finds it by accident. But if you use it... we'll know. 👀
